Potable water storage is the prime requirement for which tanks are provided over rooftop of houses. Initially, brick masonary tanks and then concrete reinforced tanks cast in situe were prepared at construction stages.

But this being costly, great care being required at its construction and not able to avoid leakage and seepage the shift towards was mild steel plate riveted or fabricated tanks.

These steel tanks being costly and requires regular maintenance became absolute. Hence a stop gap arrangement was brought by PVC tanks with attractive colors, shapes and being lightweight form heavy market potential.
